0 ratingsi think it’s great, definetely lots of hard work behind.
some quick notes: - after entering profile info, i should be invited to submit emails of friends - there should be a multi-step registration or tour after signup (too many features) - not sure how your order users, groups, etc but the 1st page doesn’t feel relevant. we should get the most interesting, or the most active. if people would want a specific group, they should use the search - it’s also quite slow. a page takes almost 10 sec to load. what’s up with caching or profiling your sql queries? - the UI is ok but feel overwhelmed. maybe too many features? not enough consistency. i know this is something that’s not obvious to do but still… - i use safari and the text areas for “body” is too small.

1 ratingLetting you know here, since I couldn’t find another place to “Contact Us” or “Report a Problem” or “Suggest a Feature” (thing to improve #1), I must have signed up a while back because I forgot I did and forgot my username. Password reset didn’t help me any because it didn’t mention in the email or password reset page what my username was (thing to improve #2). Fortunately I guessed it after 5 or 6 tries… :)

2 ratingsI think it’s great. It would be cool to have a twitter widget, where I just enter my twitter username and it shows my most recent 5 tweets. Also some kind of integration with github.

0 ratingsLooks good so far. We are a small company and if this takes off for Ruby people then it would be useful to find people for short Ruby projects and have feedback etc.
One thing I haven’t found is how to associate my OpenID with my account….

0 ratingsSam: We agree that the current votes interface is a little confusing. We’ll be working to address this sometime in the near future. Thanks for the feedback!

0 ratingsThis “votes” thing is confusing. I clicked on the “8 Votes” next to Michael’s name to see what it was all about, and ended up voting for him! What am I voting for, Reputation? Can I unvote?

0 ratingsI apologize for jumping on the blog topic, as I didn’t realize before that the blog widget is actually a feed aggregator and only displays titles. Kinda cool for those of us interested in keeping tabs on the Joneses.

0 ratingsNice and simple so far. Will have to wait and see whether it can become a true resource as time goes on. I’ll definitely be asking and answering questions as I find time, and having a ruby/rails specific environment for that is cool.
Personally I think the whole “let’s add a bunch of Facebook widgets” thing is unnecessary, and that the site should focus on providing information. Sharing links is one thing, but I’m sure 90% of the folks on here have blogs already, and don’t need yet another “wall” for folks to post up on. This is the second or third site I’ve seen DCRUG listed on, and now I’m confused as to its “official” home for announcements, etc!
Back to work for me!
