Our premier client in Manhattan is currently looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer. This is an exciting client and a great place to work. Our client is involved with emerging technologies for print-to-web, cutting edge online advertising, and world renowned content. Located near Times Square in the heart of mid-town Manhattan. They have easy access to the subway, PATH , Grand Central Station, Port Authority, the Ferry, and Penn Station.
Responsibilities Develops and maintains web page code for the company’s Internet websites, including editorial content database as well as other asset and client databases. Participates in meetings with internal customers, project managers, and other technology department staff to help establish product requirements and schedules. Perform other job related duties. Required Qualifications This position requires a wide range of technical knowledge, strong programming/scripting skills, W3C standards expertise, and interaction design ability. Must be able to translate business requirements into functional products and make good design decisions. Experience with Ruby on Rails, SQL , XML, XHTML , CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems are prerequisites and 3 years of experience in web development and information technology is required. Java and Publishing industry experience a plus. Additional Information: 1.) IDE – Development Environment. What have you done with this in ROR ’s 2.) Have you written GEM in ROR ’s 3.) SVN – Sub Version (Version Control Systems) What has your experience been with SVN ?
